Issue

Goose Desktop missing Calendar and Reminders entitlements - commands like icalBuddy calendars fail silently when run from Goose Desktop because the app lacks the required macOS TCC (Transparency, Consent, and Control) entitlements.

Root Cause

The Electron app was missing:

  1. Calendar and Reminders entitlements in entitlements.plist
  2. Usage description keys in Info.plist (via forge.config.ts)

Changes Made

1. ui/desktop/entitlements.plist

Added two new entitlements:

<key>com.apple.security.personal-information.calendars</key>
<true/>
<key>com.apple.security.personal-information.reminders</key>
<true/>

2. ui/desktop/forge.config.ts

Added two usage descriptions in the extendInfo section:

NSCalendarsUsageDescription: 'Goose needs access to your calendars to help manage and query calendar events.',
NSRemindersUsageDescription: 'Goose needs access to your reminders to help manage and query reminders.',

Verification

  • npm lint passed
  • Changes follow the same pattern as existing camera/microphone entitlements

Result

After rebuilding, Goose Desktop will prompt users for Calendar and Reminders access when needed, allowing commands like icalBuddy to work correctly.
