It would be nice to have a badge to see the standard target now that we've got both 29 and 26 libraries in large numbers.

How it looks rendered (probably better in real as this is screencap)

@JeffGarland , would you like to add this one in BEMAN_STANDARD.md? We already require Beman Maturity badge. This should follow the same pattern IMO.

BEMAN_STANDARD

Should we require or just recommend?

BEMAN_STANDARD

Should we require or just recommend?

I would say a requirement - https://github.com/bemanproject/beman/blob/main/docs/BEMAN_STANDARD.md#readmebadges.

Which will be like

Use exactly one of the following entries for the library status badge:

line 1
line 2
...

Use exactly one of the following entries for the C++ Target Standard:
line 1
line 2
...

(ready to copy paste in your repo, into beman-tidy config etc)

Added an issue to followup -- want to check that it's working first before updating the standard.

This reflects a slightly updated version of an approach to flag
forking that was originally implemented by inplace_vector.

It was approved by a vote taken at the 2026-04-27 Beman weekly sync:

Update the standard with TBD wording to the effect of allowing and
recommending the inplace_vector pull request #128.
