As a follow-up to #17149, this PR interprets the
allow*parser options, such asallowAwaitOutsideFunctionas top-level only: we recognize that these flags are mostly used with the@babel/templatein order to create top level productions that will be immediately injected into valid containers. They should not have allowed invalid non-top level cases, such asawaitexpression orreturnstatement in a class static block.As for
super()call within a plain function body, it turns out we already have a test case for that. I have reverted this change, though personally I would like to treat this option as otherallow*flags, that only allow it in the top level.
