TypeScript 2.8 will be introducing a number of syntactic additions in the type space including:

• conditional types (Conditional types microsoft/TypeScript#21316, Babel PR at TypeScript: Support conditional types syntax #7404)
• infer type parameter locations (Type inference in conditional types microsoft/TypeScript#21496, Babel PR at TypeScript: Support conditional types syntax #7404)
• improved control for modifiers on mapped types (Improved control over mapped type modifiers microsoft/TypeScript#21919, Babel PR at TypeScript: support mapped type modifiers syntax #7383)
