I run sudo python setup.py test on my ubuntu laptop, I get 2 errors and 10 test failures. For none of them it is obvious to me why is fails for me but passes in Travis.
The errors are from astropy.coordinates
The failures are from:

• astropy.io.fits
• sphinx/ext/tests/test_automodapi.py
• doctest in astropy.table
