Hi 👋, I'm Alessandro Soccol

Research Fellow in IR, M.Sc. Student in Applied Artificial Intelligence @ University of Cagliari and Incoming Doctoral Researcher @ Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS)

🎓 I am a Master’s student in Applied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Cagliari, where I also serve as a Research Fellow under Prof. Ludovico Boratto and Dr. Mirko Marras.

🚀 My research lies in Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing.

🏅 I am part of the Excellence Program, a MSc honors track reserved for only two top students, and a Lead the Future (LTF) Mentee, a selective mentorship program for outstanding students (≈10% acceptance rate with over 2.5k applications).
Additionally, I have been recognized by Forbes as one of the Top 100 Graduate Students in Italy in 2025.
