This PR adds many more tests to increase coverage.
It also includes simplification of some of the source, as well as some safeties such as not initializing properties to empty arrays when they can legitimately be that value after processing and
empty()checks will produce false positives/negatives.The source changes also helped to remove several branches that were unreachable by tests. The underlying logic is still tested though.
