This pull request adds the make and wget packages to the Dockerfiles for the actions runner in order to support build and download operations. The most important changes include adding the make and wget packages to the actions-runner.ubuntu-22.04.dockerfile and actions-runner-dind.ubuntu-22.04.dockerfile.

Main package additions:

  • runner/actions-runner.ubuntu-22.04.dockerfile: Added make and wget packages for build and download operations.
  • runner/actions-runner-dind.ubuntu-22.04.dockerfile: Added make and wget packages for build and download operations.

This update also satisfies Issue #3000

Aligns with GitHub managed runners as they have wget and make tools available.

@ryaugusta Hey! Thanks for the pull request.

Unfortunately, we can't merge this- our plan for the community-maintained 22.04 images is to make them minimalistic. "Align with GitHub managed runners" was the unachieved(and unachievable) goal for 20.04 images. You can't make those aligned as the GitHub-managed runner VM images are sized gigabytes and we can't say for sure what's needed or not.

Please can you also see #3000?
I have some plans for more variants of community-maintained runner images,
although this repository is not the right place for those.
