We use Yoast Breadcrumbs on our site. Two of the breadcrumbs are HTTP links, and those pages are showing HTTP canonicals via Yoast, even though the full site is HTTPS (all WP options are HTTPS) and these two pages do not have a manually-set canonical URL.
One is a Page (https://www.stmarytx.edu/admission/applying/) and one is a CPT Archive (https://www.stmarytx.edu/academics/centers/).
Please describe what you expected to happen and why.
I expected all of our breadcrumbs to use HTTPS links. Since we 301 all HTTP links to HTTPS counterparts, we were unaware of the problem until a crawler noted the redirect.
How can we reproduce this behavior?
I am not sure, since this is only happening on those two specific URLs. I have already flushed permalinks and then flushed the cache, and have also used the Health Check plugin to check with the Twenty Twenty theme and only Yoast SEO plugin active - same results, the Page still has an HTTP canonical URL which causes its breadcrumb to be HTTP. (The CPT Archive can't be checked that way since it relies on a plugin which was deactivated.)
