Description

If you copy common emojis to a blog post, like e.g. πŸ™‹β€, a widely discussed error message comes up when trying to save the post ("...Could not update post in the database"). Many solutions for this error are discussed (from adjusting Firewall settings to enhancing php setting etc. etc.), but lastly, the problem seem to be certain emojis (as also described by an experienced WordPress user here: https://ostermeier.net/2025/03/wordpress-fehlermeldung-die-aktualisierung-ist-fehlgeschlagen-der-beitrag-konnte-in-der-datenbank-nicht-aktualisiert-werden-geloest/).

This issue should finally be solved, in order to foster a positive instead of "buggy" Wordpress experience (and obviously many desperate users around the globe).

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Open Wordpress editor
  2. Write something including this emoji: πŸ™‹β€
  3. Try to save the post
