Issue Overview
I spent a long time researching an issue to see if it had been reported.
Soon after I raised the issue issue ( #4532 ), I was informed that there was already a Pull Request for it ( #4434 ).
Had I known that it's acceptable to raised some PR's without issues then I might have been able to save myself a lot of time. A simple note in the issue template will probably suffice.
Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)
- Find what you think is a new issue.
- Search for it in issues
- When not found raise a new issue
- Get told there's already a PR
- Egg on face.
Expected Behavior
The template for new issues should tell you to search PRs as well.
Current Behavior
Well, it would be nice if the process of raising PR's involved raising an issue in the first place.
So, the issue raiser has to seach PRs as well.
Possible Solution
Add a new comment in the issue template below
Search this repository for the issue and whether it has been fixed or reported already.
with wording
