This repository manages the Pathways project in the WordPress Contributor Handbook. At this time we are not managing other pages through GitHub.
Pathways are concise guides that help new contributors find their way into the WordPress project. Learn more about Pathways.
- We need guides — If you can, please pick up an idea from the project board and flesh it out using TEMPLATE.md.
- Pathways now live in folders — Each pathway has its own folder under
pathways/. When adding a new guide, create it inside the relevant folder. - Indexes will change — These likely won't stay a list of links, so to suggest a new pathway, open an issue. Then add the guide if you can, using TEMPLATE.md.
We'd love your help! Here's how:
- Suggest a pathway: Open a new issue with your idea
- Flag a problem: Found something broken or unclear? File an issue
- Write a guide: Pick up an idea from the project board and flesh it out using TEMPLATE.md
- Review a guide: Test an existing pathway as if you're a new contributor, and share feedback as an issue
Pathway guides are maps, not manuals. They give contributors enough detail to find what they need and get started, but they don't rewrite existing handbook pages. When in doubt, link out.
