I've glanced through the diff without checking all the minutia.
Looks like the bug I reported after reviewing PR #991 for the 2.0.16 release was nearly completely fixed, though I still found one code pattern which does not result in the correct documentation.
I've reported that upstream again: phpDocumentor/phpDocumentor#4012 (comment)
Not something which IMO should block our release though.
