Description
The During WordCamp section of the WordCamp Organizer Handbook currently does not include guidance related to medical or emergency preparedness. Recent events across the community highlight the importance of having clear instructions for organizers to handle health-related emergencies during WordCamps.
This issue proposes adding a new subsection with safety recommendations for organizers.

Suggested Fix
Add a new subsection titled “Medical & Emergency Preparedness” to this page.
**Medical & Emergency Preparedness**
WordCamp organizers should ensure appropriate medical and emergency response measures are in place during the event. Recommended practices include:
- Identifying the nearest hospital, emergency room, and ambulance service.
- Assign one organizer/volunteer as the person everyone should contact first in an emergency.
- Coordinating with venue staff about attendee volume and available first-aid support.
- Keeping basic first-aid supplies at the registration or help desk.
- Briefing volunteers on how to respond and escalate emergencies.
- Ensuring clear, unobstructed pathways for emergency services throughout the venue.
Having a documented medical response plan helps organizers act quickly during unexpected health situations and improves overall attendee safety.
