Seems this was used to keep a copy of original parse method, but in wp-api.js parse is not replaced so this not necessary.

Removes unused variable origParse in wp-api.js. Seems this was used to keep a copy of original parse method, but in wp-api.js, parse is not replaced so this not necessary.
