In case you want to plot 2 signals with very different amplitude in one diagram, it is useful to have the possibility to have an own vertical scale (axis) for each signal. Please see the attached images.
(This approach could be extended to more than 2 vertical axis scales but then the danger is that it becomes confusing.)
