I wonder, is it intended behavior that we cannot zoom to fit Data either by middle mouse button, or by right click menu?

I understand that zooming can be done infinite for functions:
"Function plots are defined by a function (not X/Y data points) so the curve is continuous and can be zoomed in and out infinitely"
But maybe in such case, we could use the pre-set XY data limits, no?
