When adding support for UPNs, email addresses and aliases the
SSS_NSS_GETSIDBYNAME and SSS_NSS_GETORIGBYNAME request were forgotten.
This patch adds the missing support because it might be irritating if
getpwnam() can resolve the name but the other requests fail. The same
logic as for the plain user lookup is used, this add some code
duplication which is expected to be removed when the nss responder will
be switched to use the new cache_req code.

I'm sorry the review took so long.

The patch mostly looks good, but see the two questions though the github review tool. I also wrote some tests, so far just in my personal branch master...jhrozek:review

I will submit them atop this PR once we know if the overriden names are also something that should be tested. And if there is some new flavor added to negcache, I need to add tests for that as well.

If Kerberos principals or email address have the same domain suffix as
the domain itself the first user lookup by name might have already added
the name to the negative cache and the second lookup by UPN/email will
skip the domain because of the neg cache entry. To avoid this a special
name with a '@' prefix is used here.

Currently it is more a copy-and-paste error because the name based sysdb
searches in nss_cmd_getsidby_search() do not use the *_with_views()
variant of the searches.

There was some discussion when adding the override feature what name a
by-SID search should return and we agreed that in this case always the
original name from AD should be returned. I guess as a result the whole
SID lookup related code path was skipped when adding overrides. But I
think it would be ok to allow lookup by overriden names here as well.

While debugging rhbz#1396912 some deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). While debugging rhbz#1396912 some deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). The removal of those functions we lose some debug messages, which is the least of problems now. Also instead of re-setting the watchdog timeout in case of time-shift (please, see b8ceaeb for more info), let's just exit the let the monitor restart the process. A proper fix for the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock. While debugging rhbz#1396912 a deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). In order to work this situation around a pipe has been added to the watchdog_ctx structure and, in case of clock screw, a single byte is written to this pipe (which is an async-signal-safe operation) and the logic currently done by the timer handler to reset the watchdog will be done inside the fd handler in a safe way. With this patch we ended up losing some debug messages as orderly_shutdown() has been replaced by _exit(). Personally I don't think is worth the trouble to try to log those messages properly in this specific case. It's really worth to mention that a proper fix the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock. While debugging rhbz#1396912 a deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). In order to work this situation around a pipe has been added to the watchdog_ctx structure and, in case of clock screw, a single byte is written to this pipe (which is an async-signal-safe operation) and the logic currently done by the timer handler to reset the watchdog will be done inside the fd handler in a safe way. With this patch we ended up losing some debug messages as orderly_shutdown() has been replaced by _exit(1). Personally I don't think is worth the trouble to try to log those messages properly in this specific case. It's really worth to mention that a proper fix the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock. While debugging rhbz#1396912 a deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). In order to work this situation around a pipe has been added to the watchdog_ctx structure and, in case of clock screw, a single byte is written to this pipe (which is an async-signal-safe operation) and the logic currently done by the timer handler to reset the watchdog will be done inside the fd handler in a safe way. With this patch we ended up losing some debug messages as orderly_shutdown() has been replaced by kill(-getpgrp(), SIGTERM). Personally I don't think is worth the trouble to try to log those messages properly in this specific case. It's really worth to mention that a proper fix the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock. While debugging rhbz#1396912 a deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). In order to work this situation around a pipe has been added to the watchdog_ctx structure and, in case of clock screw, a single byte is written to this pipe (which is an async-signal-safe operation) and the logic currently done by the timer handler to reset the watchdog will be done inside the fd handler in a safe way. With this patch we ended up losing some debug messages as orderly_shutdown() has been replaced by kill(-getpgrp(), SIGTERM) (or _exit(1) considering the cases where setting up the process group during the server_setup() has failed). Personally I don't think is worth the trouble to try to log those messages properly in this specific case. It's really worth to mention that a proper fix the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock. While debugging rhbz#1396912 a deadlock on sssd_be was noticed[0] and it's been caused by the use of non async-signal-safe functions from the signal_handler (please, see man 7 signal for more info about which are the async-signal-safe functions that can be used). In order to work this situation around a pipe has been added to the watchdog_ctx structure and, in case of clock screw, a single byte is written to this pipe (which is an async-signal-safe operation) and the logic currently done by the timer handler to reset the watchdog will be done inside the fd handler in a safe way. With this patch we ended up losing some debug messages as orderly_shutdown() has been replaced by kill(-getpgrp(), SIGTERM) (or _exit(1) considering the cases where setting up the process group during the server_setup() has failed). Personally I don't think is worth the trouble to try to log those messages properly in this specific case. It's really worth to mention that a proper fix the clock screw situation should be implemented on samba's side, by having tevent using monotonic (or boottime) clock.
