What specific problem does this solve?

Sometimes, let's say Roo edited a file. Then I refined it manually later (not in 'Editable' diff). Now, after some time, let's say I saw a bug in another part of the same file that Roo made, and I edited. So Roo needs to solve it in the same task. Now, if Roo messes up something at this step, I have to go back to the last stage I edited. But if I go to the previous checkpoint, I lose my edit, cause my edit was after that checkpoint. So it would be beneficial if there were also an automatic checkpoint after every message, not only edits.
