Description
Problem Description
As far as I can see, it is only possible to read a file by opening it from within the editor. It would be practical to be able to specify one or more filenames on the commandline.
Proposed Solution
Usage: ferrite [FILE [FILE …]]Use Cases
- Pure convenience for those of us who prefer the commandline.
- The solution would play very well with unix-like OSes that uses the XDG standard: If
ferritetook filenames on the commandline, it could be configured to be the default ‘opener’ for the filetypes it support.
Priority
How important is this feature to your workflow?
- Critical - blocking my work
- High - significant improvement
- Medium - nice to have
- Low - minor convenience
I am completely new to ferrite and I like its features, but I am unlikely to adopt ferrite at all as long as I have to open files from within the editor.
