Started running main on NixOS 24.11 since yesterday and it's been working fine.

We can automatically backport this to stable after #381721 has been merged.

Things done

  • Built on platform(s)
    • x86_64-linux
    • aarch64-linux
    • x86_64-darwin
    • aarch64-darwin
  • For non-Linux: Is sandboxing enabled in nix.conf? (See Nix manual)
    • sandbox = relaxed
    • sandbox = true
  • Tested, as applicable:
  • Tested compilation of all packages that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nixpkgs-review --run "nixpkgs-review rev HEAD". Note: all changes have to be committed, also see nixpkgs-review usage
  • Tested basic functionality of all binary files (usually in ./result/bin/)
  • 25.05 Release Notes (or backporting 24.11 and 25.05 Release notes)

Has anyone else encounter suspend issues with this version? In particular, waking up my laptop from a long night's sleep I just see a black screen and have to force it off. My Nvidia GPU may have played a role in this as well, so I've updated its driver from 565.77 to 570.86.16. I'll check later if this makes a difference.

Yeah that sounds like an Nvidia problem. Check the journal!

The jounral indicates that it's a combination of Ryzen - Freeze on shutdown, reboot and suspend and the infamous amdgpu flip_done timed out error, but I haven't encountered the issue again after updating the Nvidia driver 🤔

Perhaps Nvidia is just a red herring and it's all purely AMD-related, but I'll keep an eye out for this.
