Describe the bug

I was very surprised to see that while the sound of a Dell XPS 13 (9320) works without any issue, the microphone records nothing (either volume is set to 0, or it records white noise… not sure why sometimes it is doing one or the other). I tried with 23.11, unstable, kernel 6.1, 6.6, 6.7 (latest_linux), pulseaudio, pipewire… can't find any setting that works. I tried to upgrade the firmwares, the BIOS, change settings in alsamixer… nothing. Note that some other people reported success on this computer, so not sure what is wrong.

1. Install basic NixOs (say 23.11, commit 617579a, with pipewire… but I tried many other settings) and pavucontrol. I tried to use https://gist.github.com/notgne2/41ec4ce08982d42d803aac2dc485e27d?permalink_comment_id=4974254 to also get webcam (partially work, only firefox recognises it while cheeses does not… but it is a different question)
2. Open pavucontrol
3. Go to input devices : see that either no noise is reported, or white noise independent of the room noise.
