Looks like the fa icon class is deprecated by Font Awesome v5.x:

The fa prefix has been deprecated in Version 5. The new default is the fas solid style and the fab style for brands.

For me it was hard to find the correct icon name I want to use in the icons list. In the end I used the v4.x icon list.
