Writing explicitly in order to be included in the milestone listing.

The comprehensive script tests need to be run and resolved ahead of merging 3.1.0. I already know from work on #2678 that there are some script tests that are failing due to imprecision of response function estimation; I expect that #2748 may change some of them, but others should not have been influenced by that change yet are currently failing on my system. So will need to git bisect these.
