Miniscope Protocol

So you want to do single photon calcium imaging? Well here's the guide for you:

(under construction)

Supplies

  • General surgery supplies
  • GRIN lens forceps (made of plastic, not metal!!)
  • Torq screwdriver for baseplate set screw
  • Lens paper
  • 1mm diameter (or smaller) heat shrink for holding GRIN lens in stereotaxic holder
  • GRIN lens
  • miniscope baseplate with cover

Surgery

Overall surgery protocol, from the UCLA Miniscope wiki can be found here.

A protocol that, in my opinion, is in-depth and includes images that I found to be helpful is from CP Neuroscience - 2018 - Zhang - Miniscope GRIN Lens System for Calcium Imaging of Neuronal Activity from Deep Brain.pdf
