The Legend of Mir 1 was an early Korean MMORPG launched in 1997 under ActozSoft, laying the conceptual groundwork for what would become one of the most enduring Asian online gaming franchises. Born during an era when persistent worlds were still experimental, Mir 1 offered players a shared 2D fantasy realm rooted in Eastern mythic motifs.
Players traversed interconnected maps, battled monsters, gathered loot, leveled their characters, and formed the first seeds of a cooperative and competitive social network online.
