Thanks for experimenting with this @Alkarex! At first glance this implementation makes sense. I like the namespace for frss to make it clear that it's non-standard.

One alternative approach I was thinking about was adding these as categories. So just as there's an id for "user/-/state/com.google/reading-list", there might also be a category for user/-/state/org.freshrss/main or user/-/state/org.freshrss/important. Any thoughts there?

Either way, I think adding this to the API will make it possible to include in Capy Reader.

That sounds like a good alternative. It requires more changes, but will be closer to the original API. I will try to look into it.

@jocmp I believe I have implemented your suggestion. I have kept frss:priority for now but would like to remove it if it works for you with the new 'user/-/state/org.freshrss/main' and 'user/-/state/org.freshrss/important'.

@Alkarex I tested this branch against a local dev container instance, and so far it's working as expected!

To test, I set up 3 feeds with different statuses

FreshRSS Releases as main
The Verge as important
9to5Google as category

The Verge and FreshRSS Releases appear correctly in the "All" feed, and 9to5Google only shows up in the "Uncategorized" category. n.b. There's not an "Important" feed on Capy Reader so The Verge feed only gets rolled up into the"Main" feed.

Those new states are at article level, just like for instance user/-/state/com.google/starred

Aha thanks, I understand now. In Capy's app code it's easier to deal with categories at the feed level since it can be saved once when the subscriptions are synced.

If you still want to go with categories approach, is it possible to add the category at the feed level instead?

@Alkarex I've successfully implemented the frss:priority field that you added to the /subscription/list. I tested using this branch in a Dev Container with my Android emulator.

Per your question in jocmp/capyreader#1147 (comment), the /subscription/list field is enough, at least for Capy Reader's implementation.
