I made an attempt at doing this myself, but wasn't able to understand the Minz framework well enough to work out how to modify the DB schema safely such that upgrades work properly.

I need this change for the shuffle sort I've been working on, but I could see it being useful for implementing other features as well. It could be used to build a recently read page, to undo bulk mark as read actions, and to produce more interesting statistics.
