Hello everyone,

I am exploring the monitor diagnostic and I think that it will become one of my favourites in near future.

However, I became confused by the profile plot. This profile plot is more a contour plot i.e. a 2D plot, right? Actually I am looking for a profile plot for a 1D variable and am thinking of implementing it myself, if there is none available.
So,

1. Can anyone give me a hint to a profile plot diagnostic, I might have overseen.
2. If none available is a 1D profile plot of interest for the monitor diagnostic?
   And 3. How should I name that kind of 1D profile plot, if I would add it to the monitor diagnostic.

I myself would prefer to rename the current profile plot in monitor to contour plot, as I feel it is confusing as I have always 1D plots in mind when thinking of a profile. However, I am aware that this would break any backward compatibility. Maybe you have a better suggestion for that?
