These instructions are deprecated; they pertained to issues that occurred with TensorFlow and other compiled packages were not yet available for computers running on Apple Silicon chips.

These instructions were first added in PR #1430, and then updated in PR #2020.

DeepLabCut can successfully be installed on Apple Silicon (tested on an M2 MacBook Air) using the simple command described in the base install documentation:

conda env create -f DEEPLABCUT_M1.yaml

I believe this simple installation has been possible since PR #2022.

agree - this is depreciated now from 2.3+ onwards, thanks!
