What does this PR do?
Remove release status check.
Motivation
The names in GitLab keep changing, and GitLab is unable to correctly report the statuses to GitHub in certain scenarios such as reruns.
Additional Notes
This means that we will lose visibility on whether GitLab was able to publish the OCI images properly, but we already lost that visibility since the script is not working. It could be reintroduced only if the issues with GitLab are addressed. cc @erikayasuda
