While this might as well be the crack of dawn for us, we expect you all to tune in at primetime levels! </p><p>We will be joining host Mimi Geerges LIVE on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” program for a brief interview, after which we will be taking live phone calls from viewers. Will this be as chaotic as a 5-4 zoom chat? We’ll see! </p><p>The interview will air live nationwide on C-SPAN and will be streamed live at C-SPAN.org. Like the past couple reading circles we’ve done, we are posting the opinion on Threadable in advance of our recording so that we can read your comments and interact with subscribers.</p><p>This week, the case is Deshaney v Winnebago County. ****PLEASE NOTE**** that this case involves the physical abuse of a young child and includes descriptions of that abuse. More broadly, the case is about whether the 14th Amendment obligates the state to act to protect a child from abuse when the state knows it’s happening. Undoubtedly a difficult case to read, but an important (and awful) addition to conservative jurisprudence on the 14th.</p><p>All you need is the Threadable app (currently iOS only), which is totally free. Like the past couple reading circles we’ve done, we are posting the opinion on Threadable in advance of our recording so that we can read your comments and interact with subscribers.</p><p>This week, the case is Deshaney v Winnebago County. ****PLEASE NOTE**** that this case involves the physical abuse of a young child and includes descriptions of that abuse. More broadly, the case is about whether the 14th Amendment obligates the state to act to protect a child from abuse when the state knows it’s happening. Undoubtedly a difficult case to read, but an important (and awful) addition to conservative jurisprudence on the 14th.</p><p>All you need is the Threadable app (currently iOS only), which is totally free.
