I don't want to use GitHub.
For many reasons, I am morally opposed to the very existence of "AI" tools like Microsoft's "GitHub Copilot". Microsoft is also the boycott lists of both the BDS Movement for their material support of Israel's continued genocide of Palestinians, and the ICE List for their material support of the human rights abuses of the United States government's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Unfortunately, GitHub is still the mainstream host for many open source projects and standards, so having an account is necessary to contribute to these. My preference for ethical licences such as the Hippocratic Licence also means some alternate services such as Codeberg are unsuitable, because I refuse to use "FOSS" licences which would allow my work to be used for human rights abuses.
If you are interested in moving off GitHub, the Software Freedom Conservancy's Give Up GitHub website has some resources that may help you.
