What is it about

QGIS is a Free and Open Source Geographic Information System (which also includes data) – it’s the open source alternative to ArcGIS. But contrary to ArcGIS, QGIS is more intuitive, all the packages are free. QGIS is the perfect tool for map image processing, spatial analysis, cool plotting. QGIS supports more formats than ArcGIS, including GeoTiff, Erdas, Img, ArcInfo Ascii Grid, JPEG, PNG. QGIS it is connected with GRASS (raster software), PostgreSQL (database) Python, R and OpenStreetMap (free database) among other. All you need! How to prepare

All you will need is a laptop with QGIS installed (you can download it here).
