Having accidentally lost the image files for IBM setup disks, I am now redownloading the IBM PS/2 M50/M60 reference disk. I need a bit of help for the memory setup for the IBM PS/2 Model 60. Without any modification to the reference disk (version 1.08), the system will only detect 512KB of memory after the auto config. Using a certain SC.EXE/ADF ROM upgrader from Ardent (link), the issue is partly fixed. While 2MB of memory are detected (somewhat), POST error 164 persists. |

I found the right reference disk that can be used: https://archive.org/details/rf5060a |

all I know is that something is with the extended cmos nvram that the model 60 uses (which employes more than 4 slots), unlike the 50 one, which has exactly 4 slots and no extended nvram.
