Aw, poor Sookie and Jackson. I really hope they work things out. They're one of the best couples of the series. At least they went to Luke and Lorelai for help.
Mitchum Crapburger... it seems he can't compete with the Courant as he tries to buy it but couldn't. I know Rory still had some issues towards him but at least they were cordial toward another. I don't think Richard nor Emily are still friends with him after what happened. Fortunately, Rory got to keep her job as did everyone else.
Taylor couldn't figure out how to save the Firelight Festival but the rest of the town did. That festival is needed just to lift spirits up while others were just there to fill the void. That festival is needed and I'm glad the town rallied to get it there.
Lorelai and Jess... for a minute, I was afraid that there would be another battle happening. Well, it seemed that Lorelai needed to grow up a bit and realize Jess has changed. Him and the Wiggles and those PBS shows. Oh boy, Rory would mock him for that but he really does like Ellie and is willing to help. It seemed that he and Lorelai watching Dragon Tales and eating cereal is them making a peace treaty. That was a great episode.
:D :D *claps* Good ep, guys! 1. Every time Mitchum was mentioned, I got this foreboding feeling, shivered, and felt the urge to look behind me. It was scary! 2. Hehe, Java, you got a HIMYM reference in there! :D 3. OMG. We love The Wiggles (ignoring all australian prejudices). That, and Hi-5 (but that might have more to do with my crush on Nathan) We'd do all the dances when I was nanny-ing. Seriously, one episode of that is better than any personal trainer.
Thanks for bringing back Sookie and Jackson. I didn't realize they'd already been together for ten years. And how great that Luke ends up giving Jackson relationship advice. Whodathunkit?
I liked the Lorelai/Jess interaction. At first, I was sure that Jess would try to make a move on Rory, but instead he took care of the baby and shared cereal with Lorelai. How long is he sticking around for?
Great work from the townies, calling out Taylor on his overspending. The only reason he still has that job is because no one else wants it.
As for Mitchum - while it was nice to see him acknowledge Rory's progress, it was better to see how far she's come since then. Kevin's line about not letting her go to marinas if she gets upset tells us that she not only trusts Kevin enough to tell him about that part of her life, but that she isn't going to do it again.
Oh it was a blast from the past. I like it reading when past characters show up for unexpected visits, because it helps remember how far everyone has come since their last visit.
I had a hunch that it was Mitchum showing up. I just knew in the back of mind it would cause some old painful memories for Rory. I was anxious for his apperance this time and hoped that no one especially Rory and Sandy would lose their jobs. I was worried Rory would slipped back into her insecure self and lose her confidence once again, but thankfully Mitchum isn't buying the paper and Rory handled herself well in her brief converstation with Mitchum. Apparently it was a positive one despite the awkwardness. I thought Kevin mentioning the whole marina thing to Rory was kinda funny. I guess Rory decided to tell Kevin the story about her and Logan stealing the yauht.
Oh Jess made an apperance as well and I am delighted. I was a bit suprrised with Lorelai's hesitation of being alone with Jess given the fact that she has see him at her and Luke's wedding and other random visits. I guess this was going to be different since she had to spend some time alone with him without Rory being present. I guess no matter what Jess will always bring back those memrories of him being a bad guy through Lorelai's eyes. He has changed and I am glad Lorelai is seeing it and they are able to finally bond. I am sure Luke and Lorelai will be proud of him when they get to read his lastest book.
I got to say I was hoping to see if Kevin will ever meet Jess. I can only imagine how Rory will react to Jess's reapperance. I am sure Rory, Kevin, and Jess will all be friends. No, really. I don't see a love triangle brewing, but it will bring some memories I suppose.
Oh and poor Sookie and Jackson. Maybe these two need a night out away from the kids. I am glad Lorelai and Luke were able to give some advice. I was giggling when Luke tried to avoid having that converstation with Jackson. Apparently Luke has learned the consequences of keeping issues covered from your significant other and was able to give some advice to Jackson about talking to Sookie immediately.
Cant get enough of baby Ellie as well. Loved the Luke and Lorelai moments as well. They never kissed that much on the show and I am glad to see them smileing after greet each other and say bye to each other during the day. Sweet.
Nice to know that Rory's told Kevin about her whole sordid past. Loved the marina comment! Was on the edge of my seat during the Mitchum scenes, wondering if the L-word was going to be mentioned.
I'm a little late with this, but I just wanted to commend you all on a job well done! Very eventful and entertaining episode full of wiggles and giggles. ;)
Omg, I hate the Sookie and Jackson distance! Somehow, I never expected to have to see this. I figured it was something small that would be worked out by the end of the ‘episode’ but judging by the end we got, it seems to be a real issue. I don’t like that at all! I really hope they find a solution because we can’t be having any divorces in the Belville household. It’s just unacceptable.
I realized that I never really did hate Mitchum. I mean he sucked for a while for telling our precious Rory that she wasn’t cut out to be a journalist. But in retrospect, he was giving his opinion. A hurtful and blunt opinion that made him public enemy #1 with lots of people, but I never REALLY had an issue with him. As powerful as he is, I think it’s great that he seems to be a real person. He makes coffee if he’s the last one to drink it all up. And he wasn’t one of the ones who thought ill of Rory when it came to dating Logan. Anyway, his appearance wasn’t too bad, and I’m glad all of those workers got to keep their jobs.
Lorelai and Jess’ bonding moment was nice. Luke is right. Jess isn’t the same person, and I’ve come to appreciate that. I don’t want to see him with Rory, and as long as that doesn’t happen, I am definitely in a place where I like to read about his progress and see what his future holds.
Hopefully, the house will be ready soon and they’ll be able to get out of that cramped apartment!
Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm glad to know people are still reading the series. It was definitely a labor of love. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.
What an awesome episode. I was really apprehensive after the fight thing from the episode before but how it was all resolved was just so right! Plus everything that's happening with Rory and Kirk's…
Just started reading these not long ago, so far I'm really loving the decision to have Rory struggle in her new job, it just feels right. I feel bad for her though and can't wait till she gets…

Also, I was thinking it would sure be cool if Rory was the one who bought her mom's old house.
Wow, the apartment must be pretty crowded with Jess there too. I wonder what's up with him. He seems to be up to something.
I hope Rory doesn't get too much ribbing at work for knowing Mitchum. I like Rory and Kevin together.
Can't wait for next week. :)
So it was good for Lorelai finally to realize that Jess has changed and that they might have stuff in common.
Poor Sookie and Jackson with their troubles hope they work them out.
Ah, Mitchem in the house. That was enough to make anyone worried. Glad the rumors weren't true.
