The WMO Space Programme has just launched the Global Survey on Satellite Data Utilization (the link to the related WMO circular letter is included further below).
The Global Survey will complement the RA-III and RA-IV Regional Survey that was just distributed the past month to you. I want to reiterate that the global survey is different from the regional WMO SDR RA-III/IV survey that recently went out as the most recent global survey on Satellite Data Utilization was conducted in 2016. Therefore, there is a great need to collect up-to-date information on the status of satellite data utilization and user needs for training to help bridge the gaps between the large amount of satellite data available, and the tremendous need for increased access to those data, information, products and training.
We encourage you to widely distribute the questionnaire among satellite data users in your region and ask them to provide the required information on the use of satellite data, by completing the electronic form through the GLOBAL SURVEY ON SATELLITE DATA UTILIZATION – 2022 (available in six languages) by 1 July 2022.
