Hi, come and join a brand-new homo/bi/t friendly community: happy_gay_life
This is a community dedicated to building a positive homo/bi/t image by sharing joyful and uplifting experiences of being homo/bi/t.
Ever wonder why there are so few homo/bi/t stories/movies with happy endings? I did.
I figure out that it has to come from us. We've got to count our blessings and share these lovely moments with each other: the special moments that bring smiles to our faces, that make our hearts sing, that tickle us, that move us to tears of joy ... on a daily basis.
Every time you share a line of joy, you're contributing to building a positive homo/bi/t image.
Come! Join us and have some fun!

Hello, perhaps you've seen my posts at another community or maybe you've spotted my website. My name is Jen and I have started a book drive for teens. My library has a very small young adult collection and so do the other public libraries in the area. I have been asking for people to make donations of used young adult books or to purchase one from our wish list at Amazon. Seeing as how I am a lesbian I know how important and helpful it can be to find a GLBT character in a teen book. I remember the first time I read "Annie on My Mind" and "The Year They Burned the Books" which is still one of my favorites. I am asking for you to remember your favorite teen book and what it meant to you and then consider making a donation. You will find several GLBT books on the Amazon wish list if you do not have a used book to send. Every book makes a difference. We of course are not looking just for books with gay themes, any teen book will do, fiction or non-fiction. The libraries that the donations will go to are small rural libraries in the New York Southern Tier.
Please take a few minutes and look at the book drive's website. Thanks, Jen http://bookdrivegirl.tripod.com Amazon Wish List
We are not a registered non-profit. No donation is tax-deductible.

My name is Ellie. I'm basically a straight girl, in a straight relationship... but I am also kind of bi-curious. I find some ladies attractive (Scarlett Johansson in particular! *drool*), but I'm still not sure if I'd ever want to engage in sexualy activities with a lady. I like to look at pictures of nudes, and am much more of an appreciater of the female form than the male form! I guess I'm just kinda messed up sexually! =P
I joined this community in hope of finding people with similar feelings, that I can relate to.

I'm new. I'm Kelsey. I'm 14, almost 15, I'm straight, and very pro-gay rights. I have tons of gay, lesbian, and bi friends, and straight ones as well. I've been affectionatly refered to as a faghag, more then once. I tend to make up for my "not totally out of the closest" non-striaght friend's lack of 'in-your-face-ness' about their sexuality by showing my support so often I've been aproacted by more then one person questioning my sexuality itself, which is, suprisingly, very straight. I love my friends, all of them, and am very for being who you are.
P.S. I noticed this community has the same title as a book about something of the same sorts.. XD clever clever.

hi everyone! i'm new (looks like everyone else is too). well, i'll start off with a little about myself...my name's katie, i'm 13 and bisexual. i cannot stand bush. personally, i don't understand why people are so opposed by gay/lesbian/bisexual people. i mean, it's just a person's sexuality, not a contagious disease or anything. i don't see why can't people of the same sex can't get married. yes, i know the definition of marriage is the legal bond of a man and a woman, but still. i mean, why can't two people that love each other get married, desipte gender? i think it's the stupidest thing ever...i mean, people marry people with the same religion, race, skin color, hometowns (by the way i'm not saying all people do, i'm just saying this to back up an opinion), so why not gender? but yeah, i know i'm boring you, so i'll stop...well.......yeah. see ya!
oh yeah! i just want ot say this really quick...i like that book (geography club, i mean). now, i'm not entirley sure that's what you mean by it, but...i would have to assume it. xD

My Name Is Amberly (ahahaha that’s such a corny first line). I’m 16, bisexual, and in a relationship with one of the most amazing guys I’ve ever met. He’s FTM, and if you don’t know what that means, look it up. (I’m only mentioning it because this is a GBLTQ community. I could care less about it, it doesn’t matter to me.) Um…uh…I don’t know what to say now. I’m very big on human rights, and even if I were straight I’d probably still have joined. Interests on my LJ, along with a picture…I’ve got to cross-post this 100 million times, which is why it’s short (I’m a communitywhore > <)
Anyways...bye.

And I was going through and joining LJ communities, and I thought I'd look up and see what was here on glbt allies. Over the last couple years I've started to accumulate more gay guy friends....mostly by being attracted to them first...lol....Lately the majority of guys I tend to be attracted to end up being gay...just call me Grace:P lol BUt I found that get along better with gay guys than straight guys, or girls lol ANyway, just making an introduction for myself on here:)

I just saw Resident (not President) Bush on CNN. He was talking about the Gay Marriage issue. He now wants to amend our constitution defining marriage as only between a man and a woman. He said "the voice of the people must be heard" I'm wondering which people? Certainly not the thousands who have already gotten married in California, or the ones in other states wanting and waiting to do so. Isn't this the same man who promised to be a "unitor" when he took over the White House 3 and a half years ago? Why is is driving a cultural wedge between Americans? Could it be he wants to take our minds off of other things like the deficient, economy, unemployment, war and all his other broken promises and lies?

12:03 am - for mass youth
|

|
For all of the youth in Massachusetts; in case you didn't know the Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth is throwing a Fund Raiser for Youth Pride 2004 Sat. Feb. 7th. from 5:30-11:30. This will be 5 hours of non-stop dancing, can you last? An hour of hip-hop, 80s, alternative, techno and top 40 hits.
It is at the Cambridge Welcoming Ministries, 56 Magazine Street, Cambridge, MA. Take the Red line to central square and walk up mass ave past pearl street then take a left onto Magazine street.
This is a fund raiser so the idea is that you get friends/family/supporters to sponsor you. We would like you to raise at least $20, some people have already raised over a hundred. Straight but not narrow people are more than welcome.
You may be thinking Governor's Commission on GAY and LESBIAN youth, what about Bisexual and Trans and Queer and question and inter-sex. Well while they are not officialy in our state titel we do include all labels and non-labels in our effort to make Massachusetts a safer place for glbtqqia etc... youth.
Our goal is $5,000 and all the proceeds will go to help fund next year's Youth Pride. We can only do this with your help, so even if you can't make it, consider donating some money to a friend who is going.

HOWDY ALL! I would love love love love X 129432946.3484 to be able to start a GSA club in my school. Does anyone have any pointers/tips/information/advice i could use. My school is somewhat conservative...but i'd love to get something like this going. So please offer advice opions...etc.
BTW...i don't think i ever posted a mini-bio. I'm Lindsey, 15 from north texas. I'm straight...at least i'm pretty sure i'm straight. I'm a sophmore...i make acceptable grades, and i'm in the GT program (gifted and talented students....pssh). I'm big into theatre and i'm most definitely a liberal, but i don't hate bush as much as most liberals. My favorite place is P-Town in cape cod. My god...if you've never been, you should definitely go. It's amazing. And that's about it. ;)

i wrote an article as a "guest editor" (since i'm not on the staff) for our school newspaper. they rejected it because it was too controversial. so i changed the names and added a picture and i'm going to throw many copies over the second story rail in our highschool next week for all to read.
( you can taste itCollapse )

hey everyone, thought i'd join.
i'm a 16-year-old guy and a junior in high school. in actual life im not out to anyone, but it's not a really big issue for me anymore. since im in high school i'm not really worrying about having a love life or anything. right now i think my responsibility is that of a student before anything else. i absolutely love science and math. i love to learn, but i really enjoy dancing hip-hop, singing, and taking very long naps. my style is what some might call preppy, but i like looking good. i dont dress to shock and i dont like "look at me" fashion and definitely cant stand people with that kind of an attitude. music-wise i mostly listen to hip-hop because i love the danceable beats. i used to like alternative or punk music but now i don't really identify with it as much as i used to. anyways, i like being treated as a person. sure, i'm gay, but that's not all i am. i can't stand the idea of "gay pride" or such ostentacious flaunting. i think the "gay pride" mentality makes us more openly look like a sexual orientation freak show rather than improve our overall cultural image. it's just one more way of asking for further derision, in my opinion.
that's about it, and i hope to meet some great people here.
