This blog was first created as part of my dissertation project, studying how international climate policy and\u00a0 projects restructure rural environments and human-environment-relations in North Africa. Using forest carbon projects as a case study, I explored how the (planned) integration of forests into global carbon markets is changing forests, their uses and valuations, and which practices, knowledges and subjectivities these processes create.<\/p>\n
This project is now coming to an end – and the focus of the blog has widened: Here I write, collect and comment about ‘political ecologies’ in the Middle East and North Africa (and sometimes beyond).<\/p>\n
Dieses Blog hat zun\u00e4chst mein Dissertationsprojekt begleitet: Dieses geht bzw. ging der Frage nach, wie internationale Klimapolitik und -projekte die Struktur l\u00e4ndlicher R\u00e4ume und die Mensch-Natur-Beziehung im Nahen Osten und Nordafrika ver\u00e4ndern . Am Beispiel von W\u00e4ldern, die in internationale Kohlenstoffm\u00e4rkte eingebunden werden, habe ich untersucht, wie ein solcher Ansatz die W\u00e4lder selbst, ihre Nutzung und Bewertung ver\u00e4ndert, und welche ver\u00e4nderten Praktiken, Wissenssysteme, Naturbilder und Subjektivit\u00e4ten diese Ans\u00e4tze hervorbringen.<\/p>\n
