My name is Gary Jones, and I’m a software engineering lead at WordPress VIP, based in Basingstoke in the UK.
I’m a father of twins and married to a crafter. My background is as a former teacher in schools and prisons. I ran my own business, Gamajo, for ten years.
I want to write more. I tweeted and left Facebook, but I still need to move all my photos onto this site. I wrote poetry many years ago.
I listen to music while I code and run. I used to do parkrun regularly, and I’ve completed a few half marathons, two road marathons, a trail marathon and an ultra marathon. I don’t run regularly now, but I go to the gym several times a week.
I like to meet up with WordPress and PHP communities. I’ve been an organiser for WordCamp London three times and was a co-organiser for the WordPress London monthly meetup.
I contribute to WordPress core and am a Locale Manager and General Translation Editor for British English.
