New media integration in schools has become one of the most crucial topics in educational policie... more New media integration in schools has become one of the most crucial topics in educational policies in recent years. There are various national and international projects and interventions carried out by public authorities, private sector, or NGOs. However, these projects are often sporadic in their nature and fail to be implemented with a long-term outlook in a holistic manner. Based on the examples of the FATIH and eTwinning projects from Turkey, this paper will argue for a holistic approach in educational policies on media integration in schools by taking these two cases. One of the main claims of the analysis is that the existing policies are often based on short-term remedies. Policymakers tend to allocate a significant amount of resources on the enhancement of technology infrastructure in schools; however, not enough attention is paid to teacher training, development of content, and pedagogical approaches for integrating media technologies in schools.

In recent years we frequently encounter individuals, in this case social entrepreneurs, who adopt... more In recent years we frequently encounter individuals, in this case social entrepreneurs, who adopt innovative and sustainable approaches to solve social challenges at national and global level. This study aims to put forward a blueprint for understanding communicating for social good through the lens of a steadily growing landscape of social entrepreneurship in Turkey. The ultimate objective of the study is to (i) understand the social entrepreneurship landscape in Turkey and (ii) propose a model for communicating for social good. In the first section a conceptual framework for entrepreneurship from the international literature is put forward. The second section presents the methodology of the study and the data sample. The third section presents a discussion on the social entrepreneurship landscape in Turkey and the findings of the field study. The study concludes by proposing a model for communicating for social good for social entrepreneurs in Turkey.
