What does URL mean?

Uniform Resource Locator (URL), sometimes referred to as Universal Resource Locator, is a subset of the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) that provides the address or location of a specific resource on the internet, such as hypertext pages, images, or other resources.
URL defines how the resource can be obtained. This format helps identify and locate resources on the internet.

Typical URL Format:
protocol://hostname/file_name

Hostname: the name of the server on the network (domain name or IP address).
File_name: the pathname to the specific file or resource being accessed.
