What does UHVDC mean?

Ultra High Voltage Direct Current (UHVDC) is a type of electrical transmission system that uses Direct Current (DC) at very high voltage levels to transmit power over long distances. UHVDC systems are used to transmit electrical energy from power generation plants to load centers, such as cities, where electricity is needed.
