What does SIR mean?

Short Interest Ratio (SIR) is the ratio of the number of shares being shorted divided by the Average Daily Trading Volume (ADTV) of the stock.
SIR gives the number of days it would take investors to close out short positions in the open market. It can be also used as a measure of investor sentiment for a given stock.
