What does RFID mean?

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that uses radio waves to read and capture information stored on an RFID tag attached to an object.
The system comprised of two components: RFID tags and RFID readers. The RFID reader is a device that emits radio waves and receives signals back from the RFID tag. RFID Tags use radio waves to communicate their identity and other information to nearby RFID readers. RFID is used in several applications to uniquely identify and track inventory and assets.
