What does PST mean?

Pacific Standard Time (PST) is a time zone used in the Pacific Time (PT) or the Pacific Time Zone, which includes the western coast of the United States, parts of Nevada and Idaho, British Columbia and the Yukon Territory in Canada, and the northwestern states of Baja California and Baja California Sur in Mexico during the winter months.
PST is 8 hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-8).

Pacific Time Zone observes either PST or Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), depending on whether daylight saving time is in effect or not. During the winter months when daylight saving time is not in effect, the Pacific Time Zone uses PST. However, during the summer months when daylight saving time is in effect, the Pacific Time Zone switches to PDT, which is one hour ahead of PST.

Note:
PST and PDT refer to time zones used in the same area but during different parts of the year. PST is used during the winter months when daylight saving time is not in effect. PDT is used during the summer months when daylight saving time is in effect.
