What does OGTT mean?

Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) is a medical test that measures how your body metabolizes glucose (sugar) after a drink containing a large amount of glucose.
During the test, a standard dose of glucose is ingested orally, typically in the form of a glucose drink or solution. Blood glucose levels are then checked two hours after the ingestion of the glucose solution.
OGTT helps assess how effectively the body processes and clears glucose from the bloodstream. It is used to diagnose prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes.
