What does Mercedes-Benz mean?

Mercedes-Benz is an automobile brand headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The name "Mercedes" was originally used on a series of vehicles produced by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG). These vehicles were named after Mercedes Jellinek, the daughter of Emil Jellinek, who was a key figure in the development of early Mercedes vehicles.
The "Benz" part of the brand name comes from Karl Benz, who was a pioneer of the automobile industry and is credited with developing the first practical gasoline-powered car.
In 1926, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie. merged to form Daimler-Benz, and the vehicles produced under the new company were branded as Mercedes-Benz.

The three-pointed star of the Mercedes-Benz logo was intended to symbolize the company's goal of producing engines and vehicles that could be used in all three environments: land, water, and air.
The phrase “land, water, and air” was used because, in the 19th century, Wilhelm Maybach together with Gottlieb Daimler developed a light, high-speed internal combustion engine that could be used in cars, boats, and airplanes, and to describe the versatility of their engine.
