Microsoft Disk Operating System (MS-DOS) is a command-line interface operating system for x86-based personal computers. MS-DOS was originally designed for the IBM PC by Microsoft in 1981. Command-line interface, means the user had to type in commands to use it, unlike newer version of windows which has Graphical User Interface.
