What does IGST mean?

Integrated Goods and Services Tax (IGST) or Integrated GST, is one of the categories under Goods & Services Tax (GST). As the name suggest GST is tax levied on goods and services. IGST is charged when movement of goods and services from one state to another. IGST would also be applicable to import of goods or services from outside the country as well. IGST is collected by the central government and the revenue is shared by state government and central government as per the rates fixed by the authorities.
